Here's one that passed a lot of people by, so thanks to the FPI blog for pointing it out: Adhouse Books are printing another THB: COMICS FROM MARS sampler, which should have been out for the Baltimore Comic Convention that was taking place over the last few days. Hopefully this means that the long-gestating TOTAL THB is that little bit closer to publication. Personal whinge: $20 for postage to the UK? Ouch.

Stand By Your Klams
Warwick Johnson-Cadwell honours me yet again; this time paying tribute to my band and our recent dismantling of The Beastie Boys' classic Sabotaged.

Been caught soliciting: Image, November 2010.
Loving this. It's Dennis Potter-ness was quite a surprise, and the solicitation text for the last issue shows no let-up in the fourth wall demolition ("Steve Noman finally tracks down Hine and Kane in this breathtaking climax to our epic tale of love, loss and laxatives. Just who the heck are The Shadow Men anyway? Will The Creators pull this off or will they disappear up their own flabby wrinkled backsides?"). I was happy enough having Shaky back drawing comics, let alone one that turned out to be my favourite of the year so far.

W.I.P. Teaser trailer for the JUDGE MINTY fan film.
Personally, I look at this and go "shit yeah - these days Judge Dredd would be totally do-able on a BBC budget".

It's a fecal matter from now on: kicking TANK GIRL - SKIDMARKS up a notch.
CBR are previewing the first 30-odd pages of the Titan TANK GIRL: SKIDMARKS collection over here. UK readers may have seen these before in the Megazine, but not in colour. Yeh bastids.

Brendan McCarthy's FUBAR.
The legend Brendan McCarthy has a new superhero, FUBAR, in need of a home. Brendan sez "I'm looking for a good publisher, with a decent deal. Anyone out there interested, get in touch! swiminipurpose@yahoo.com"
Brendan teased me with the pitch that goes along with this, and it's a heartbreaking work of staggering genius, as Big Dave might have put it. And funny, too.

Been caught soliciting: Marvel and DC, November 2010.
Los Bros Hernandez go Marvel; I love Kyle Baker, but I've made a vow, and I'm sticking to it; and Vince does Wally. More Marvel, More DC; as usual, all bandwidth nicked from CBR. Wot a rotter.

"Kirby meets Metal Hurlant": Paul Pope's BATTLING BOY poster for TCAF 2010.
Which reminds me: this image of Battling Boy's dad going all cosmic on us has been up at Paul Pope's Flickr for a while now, and which he claims was a poster done for TCAF 2010. Of course, that festival has been and gone, and I've yet to see any copies of the print for sale anywhere, not even from Toronto's own damned fine comic shop The Beguiling. Anyone know if it's commercially available anywhere? Pope does have a history of running fabulously late with such items, I know.

Exclusive: Brendan McCarthy pages from Marvel's AGE OF HEROES #4.
I hadn't even realised that Brendan had work in this comic until he sent along these pages from it: a short about the Inuits who found the block of ice with Captain America in it. That'll be a quick email to Biff in the morning, then.
*BONUS UPDATE* Three more lettered pages over at CBR.

Ah, doesn't matter how many of these comics I'm likely to buy, I was only ever going to run the Mignola covers anyway.

...and I spent all my money on Witzke and beer...
When my blog reached its fifth anniversary, I scratched the ass out of it with about a week's worth of celebratory entries. Sean Witzke, being a much wiser head, just writes one typically eloquent post. His guy just constantly delights me with his prose (even when he's not writing about me). He's got the chops to be the Lester Bangs of this shit we do; hopefully, y'know, without the struggling in obscurity and dying too young bollocks.
