If I'd've created a mental image of Mr McCarthy, which I'm quick to confess I never have, I'd've wanted "him" to be discussing occult symbols, the collapse of American capitalism and a love, amongst so many other things, of Sixties Marvel.

Huzzah!colsmihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15246781681702128600noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8210377.post-22740546729279627602010-09-08T08:22:04.135+01:002010-09-08T08:22:04.135+01:00It's great to see that while comic industry ch...It's great to see that while comic industry changes and new artist pop up every day, the core materials never become completely forgotten. The work of Masters like Ditko and Kirby and others (etc..)should always be kept in mind. Ditko's Spider-man is iconic, still I haven't seen a lot of artist relating to it. It's maybe because the audience nowadays likes a Romita sr spidey. That art gives a more standard old school comic feel, while Ditko had some sort of crazynes in his work. The surrealistic world he did for Dr Strange is just as special as the worlds Kirby imagined.Miklós Felvidékihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01580196131047647760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8210377.post-80487494774669834042010-09-08T05:37:13.301+01:002010-09-08T05:37:13.301+01:00Cracking stuff, Mark - a real thrill to read some ...Cracking stuff, Mark - a real thrill to read some of the philosophy which underpins Brendan's work. His thinking on people like Tommy Cooper really reminded me of Stewart Lee's writing, specifically Lee's musings on the "holy fool".
