Bryan Lee O'Malley,
If Michael Cera's performance had a face, I would punch it in the balls.
Well said Brigonos! Mark, did you read this? A few friends tried to get me to buy it, but I never could quite get over how precious it felt... was I wrong?
You're not wrong, Trev, but in these times of Family Guy influencing a generation of entertainers to rely on near-psychopathic scatological references instead of actually writing objectively funny jokes or coherent plots, Pilgrim is one of the better examples of using the the detritus of pop-cultural nostalgia as a narrative language in its own right.
SCOTT PILGRIM appeals massively to the part of me that is forever a 23-year old bassist in a no-hoper rock'n'roll band with a SNES.
Fair enough. I'll go see it then.
