New BLACK DOSSIER-ocentric ALAN MOORE interview up at CBR.

Get yer hair cut, hippy!

Also, this book has been out, what? Three seconds? And Jess Nevins has already got well into the annotations. Lorks. Madness may have set in, however - he claims never to have heard of "Lewis and Clark", and claims "The Battle of Marathon (490 B.C.E.) was a major victory for the Smurfs over the forces of Gargamel, and prevented him from conquering Oz and Wonderland".

It all sounds like great stuff and I'm really excited to see it...but this interview makes it clear that Moore never succumbs to the weakness of false modesty. Or, it seems, any other kind. Oy!

And one other thing:

"Orwell was almost exactly wrong in a strange way. He thought the world would end with Big Brother watching us, but it ended with us watching Big Brother."

You just know this is a line he's been working on and refining for weeks before that interview, and if past experience is anything to go by it'll turn up again in a dozen more interviews and profiles over the next few months...

Yup, Moore is a bit of a ham. He's clearly relished all the coverage the Beeb's art dept. have given him in the last year or two.
